A lot of my therapy and one to one sessions take place online. Here’s why it might be a great option for you.
These days, we are all more online than ever. Sometimes it’s good to push back on that trend, but sometimes it’s a good thing. Over the years, many of my most rewarding experiences as a therapist, and as a therapy client, have happened via online video calls.
In this busy world we live in, finding time for ourselves can be difficult. That’s why doing therapy online can be a game changer, because it’s way easier to fit into everyday life. Not only that, but you get to be in your own space, with everything you need, and without having to worry about the stress of travel.
By doing sessions online, you can be in your own familiar, comfortable space. You can do sessions from your sofa, your office, or even your bed! You can move around, sit in your favourite chair, cuddle your cat, and drink a cuppa from your favourite mug. It means you can relax, feel safe, and focus on what’s important – your therapy. And, of course, no commute, no public transport, and way less hassle.
Of course, not having to commute saves you money, as well as time. But you might wonder if working online is as good as seeing someone in person? The answer is yes. Research shows that online therapy is just as effective as in-person therapy for many of the common reasons that people attend therapy. This has also been my own personal experience, and it’s another reason why I believe that the increasing trend of therapists working online with our clients is a good thing.
Doing therapy online can make life simpler and easier for you. It’s a comfortable, modern, and flexible way to bring real, positive change to your life.
